Why Choose To Spray your Kitchen?

Their are many positive reasons to opt for a kitchen re-spray, when speaking to our clients the during the discovery phase of their projects The 4 main reasons that continually come up are:

01 Cost

Choosing to spray your current kitchen is far more cost effective then ripping out and replacing your current kitchen. An average kitchen re-spray would cost between £1800.00 to £2750.00. Whereas a new kitchen can range between £18k to £60k possibly more!

02 Time

Another contributing factor our clients opt to spray their kitchens, is time! A bespoke kitchen re-spray typically takes 3 days. Whilst a new kitchen install can take up to 4 weeks, even 6 weeks in some cases.

03 Quality

They don't make kitchens like they used to. In our experience this saying is so true. In most cases, modern kitchens are massed produced and made using cheap materials such as MDF. Once sprayed, an old tired looking kitchen can be totally transformed whilst keeping the high build quality.

04 Bespoke

What a high percentage of our clients desire is a one-of-a-kind space that truly reflects them and their personality. Choosing to spray your kitchen gives you the unique opportunity to do so, by choosing your own colour theme and customizations.

Questions to ask before deciding on a company

When finally choosing to spray your kitchen, it maybe a bit daunting approaching company's, especially if you have no experience with such work or the process required to bring a project to life. You may wonder what questions you should be asking and more importantly what answers you receive from these questions.

Listed below are some questions you should ask company's who maybe potently bringing your project to life:

  1. What paint do you use, is the paint suitable for the kitchen environment?
  2. How many coats of primer and paint do you apply? (should be 2 coats minimum of each)
  3. What process does your company use to insure good paint adhesion and overall finish?
  4. What is to be painted? (front/backs - doors/drawers, end panels, plinths etc)
  5. What don't you paint or remove so to be painted?
  6. Do you remove the doors/drawers so to be sprayed offsite?
  7. Do you guarantee your work for reactions or paint issues?
  8. Can you provide pictures/videos and testimonials from previous projects?
  9. Can the paint applied be wiped and cleaned?

If any of these questions cannot be answered soundly, we would suggest this should raise a red flag!

The professional kitchen cabinet spraying process from start date to completion

Listed below is a typical KoolCreation project schedule (short description):

Day 01 -

Our onsite team would attend at the agreed time and day. The team would then proceed to mask and sheet the kitchen, including the surrounding area. This protects the sections of the kitchen that are not to be sprayed. This process typically takes 5-6 hours. Once completed the team will tidy and finish for the day.

Day 02 -

The team will return on the agreed day and carry a deep clean followed by our onsite preparation process of the doors/drawers. This involves sanding each unit using the correct grit, typically 180grit so to insure strong primer adhesion. Two coats of primer is then applied to each unit.

Day 03 -

The team would then return the following day, to apply the top coats (colour), once completed and the paint is dried (1 - 2 hours) the team will then de-sheet followed by a detail and clean.
